Our best 5 a-side team names

Sometimes a lot of thought goes in to 5 a-side team names. Some teams name themselves after the team they support, some team names are downright rude and others are very creative!

At KIKOFF Fraser Park, we have team names that fall under all three of these categories- a list of our favourites is set out below:

FC Porto

These legends have been playing football at KIKOFF Fraser Park for as long as I can remember. The players have a Portuguese background and support the blue and white. Each player has their own Porto jersey and the team are sitting pretty in third place of our Wednesday Division 1 competition.

Exeter Gently

This name doesn’t need any explanation and without doubt falls under the “rude” category. Their opposition in the Monday division 2 competition must also find it offensive as the team are second bottom of the league with no wins from two games.

The creative names are much more fun and here are our top three:

3. Bayern Bru- With some of our staff being from Scotland, Bayern Bru had to make an appearance here. The “Bayern” is taken from the German powerhouse- Bayern Munich while the “Bru” comes from “irn bru”, which is also known as “Scotland’s other national drink”- behind whiskey.

2. Pathetico Madrid- Football should be played in good spirits and Pathetico Madrid is a team name which suggests the players aren’t taking themselves too seriously. The name is taken from the Spanish Giants- Atletico Madrid- which is the reason for the “o” at the end of pathetic- well done lads.

New call-to-action

1. Murder on Zidane’s Floor-
As I’m sure you all know, Zinedine “Zidane” is a French footballing legend. He has won the Champions league, European Cup and World Cup and lots, lots more!! “Murder on the dance floor” is a Sophie Ellis-Bexter classic that was released in 2001 and for those of you who know the song, “Zidane’s” slots perfectly in to the chorus.

Combine the football player and the song- you have our top team name
